We had a lovely two night stay. We didn't need frills, just a comfortable and copacetic place from which we could organize ourselves to attend a wedding. Relative to other accommodations in the area, it was very affordable and perfectly satisfactory. The management and staff are very helpful and friendly; we got a great dinner recommendation and the help we needed when we asked. I would definitely stay here again,

You are traveling in the old Saybrook area. This is obviously an excellent place to stay. Spacious room Rustic style with heavy almost unfinished wood furniture, which is quite charming We found it very enjoyable to stay there
STAYED LAST WEEKEND AND I HAVE TO SAY VERY FRIENDLY STAFF THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN HOUSE KEEPING CAME BOTH DAYS OF OUR STAY. THE HOTEL WAS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO RESTAURANTS AND LITTLE SHOPS. DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK AGAIN.
It felt like the room was prepared for the president himself. Everything was immaculate, with the little bonuses like the shampoo and conditioner (which was great) laid out all fancy on a folded towel, etc. The Wolfgang puck coffee hit the spot. Had a mini fridge, ironing board, microwave, good wifi, TV. It just sucks that it costs so much more on the weekends. But really it's just more like you get a big discount on weekdays so I'm not knocking them for it. Weekday value is 10/10 no questions asked. The bed was on the firm side but I was very comfy. Heat worked perfectly and smelled great in there. Such a cozy spot.
I have to say, for the price, this has been one of the best hotel stays I’ve experienced. Usually, hotels in this price range come with unpleasant odors and poor-quality rooms, but that wasn’t the case here. While this isn’t a five-star establishment, it’s a great spot to rest before hitting the road again. The cleanliness was impressive, and the wooden tables added a charming touch! I also didn’t encounter any unruly guests, which is a relief compared to some other places. The only reason I’m giving service a 4 is that the gentleman who checked me in seemed a bit tense at first, but he warmed up during our conversation. Overall, this hotel is definitely a fantastic value for the price!
My wife and I recently spent five days vacationing in Old Saybrook. Not being a big fan of corporate hotels with their overpriced rooms and marginal service we opted to stay at the family owned/operated Pier Blue Inn. Check in was quick and easy. Because it was off season, the front desk manager gave us a free upgrade to a King Room which we found exceptional clean and comfortable. The Inn was located near all the places we had planned to visit along with many excellent restaurants. The attentive staff couldn't do enough to help make our visit more pleasurable. Well done Blue Pier! You've got a repeat customer on our next visit. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Thanks!
We stumbled upon this inn on a whim and was met with great hospitality. It is an incredibly clean, well decorated family run inn. Their attention to detail and service was fantastic. Great value for the price we paid. We will be returning for a longer trip near the CT shoreline. Thank you to Vijay and Monica!
